New year, new ranges! 2014 was a busy year for the team at Neviti with the development of several new collections to keep us occupied. Not only did we have the pleasure of working on a collection based on one of the most iconic characters in children’s literature – Little Nut Brown Hare from ‘Guess How Much I Love You‘ – but we also developed another range with the little ones in your family in mind. So if 2015 will involve a special celebration for your little one, the range ‘Little Owls’, is perfect.
What’s particularly versatile about Little Owls is that it comes in two colour ranges and includes pieces you can mix and match, depending on the nature of your celebration. There are specific pieces designed with baby showers, christenings or naming ceremonies and first birthdays in mind as well as a more comprehensive, generic collection that complements these more specific pieces. So, with everything in the range combined, you’ll find everything you need to celebrate your special day in style.
In terms of design, our aim was to create something bold and quirky, featuring a distinctive character that has appeal to both little boys and girls. Our friendly owl sits atop an acorn tree, surrounded by buzzing bees, wearing either blue gingham for boys or pink for girls. Colourful without being brash, we wanted to create a design that works for a range of celebrations and age groups; in fact, the generic range is perfectly suitable for older children’s parties, too.
You’ll find all the basics you need for your celebration – paper tableware, napkins and party bags, for example – as well as gorgeous pieces you can use to decorate your venue, whether you’re celebrating indoors or out. Bunting is a simple way to make your room come alive, and there’s a lovely option in the Little Owls range, featuring 21 double-sided triangular flags with either a generic design or featuring logos reading ‘1’, ‘Baby Boy/Girl’ or ‘Birthday Wishes’. You could scatter some Little Owl confetti across your tables, too, and create an eye-catching centrepiece with a co-ordinating two-tier cake stand, laden with cupcakes encased in matching cases and topped with a Little Owl cake pick. Fill a corner with a collection of bright balloons in shades of blue and yellow/pink and white and give your little guests a balloon to take home at the end of your celebration.
If it’s an impending arrival you’ll be celebrating in 2015 rather than a birthday, there are some fun additions you can add to your party supplies, such as cute name stickers and baby guessing game cards where your guests can have a go at predicting key facts about your baby’s birth, such as their weight and name. Colourful scratch cards are also featured, which you can integrate into your baby shower or christening.
If you’re looking for party games, food or decoration ideas, whatever the celebration, the Martha Stewart website makes a great one-stop shop for inspired ideas, whether you have lots of time to prepare or are looking for low-cost, quick options to give your celebration a sprinkling of fairy dust. Being an American site, it’s particularly good for inspiration for baby showers, as these celebrations have been popular in the States for much longer than on this side of the pond. For real-life ideas, take a look at Pinterest or Catchmyparty.com, where you can see how other hosts have made their celebration stand out from the crowd.
